Architects (Information & Communication Technology)
The Software Architect ensures that the underlying architecture supports both functional and non-functional requirements and that the requirements align with the technical strategy and vision of the organisation.

As a Software Architect, your primary responsibilities include:
- Take ownership and guide the implementation of technical solutions to meet client needs.
- Plan and facilitate workshops alongside technical teams to understand business problems and design solutions.
- Collaborate with clients, external organisations and internal engineering disciplines to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Create detailed technical and functional documentation, outlining the scope and design of solutions.
- Participate in design and code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.
- Identify and remove technical roadblocks across the organisation to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Provide input on coding and design best practices.
- Lead and drive internal projects to improve technical methodologies, contributing to the enhancement of our engineering discipline.
- Ensure engineering teams have the necessary tools and software to perform their duties effectively.
- Participate in reviewing and approving architecture decisions made by engineering teams.
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- 3+ years of experience as a technical architect or similar.
- Strong knowledge in software engineering with extensive experience working with cross-functional teams in designing and delivering end-to-end software.
- Demonstrated ability to guide the implementation of technical solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remove technical roadblocks for engineering teams.
- In-depth knowledge of coding and design best practices.
- Proven experience planning and facilitating workshops.
- Expertise in creating comprehensive technical and functional documentation.
- Understanding of engineering tools and software.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, SAFe or similar).
- Broad understanding of technologies in the developer ecosystem, including IDEs, developer frameworks, and multiple language stacks.
- Knowledge of cloud-native technologies and solutions.
- Good understanding of continuous integration, continuous delivery, and deployment.
- Understanding of DevOps philosophy, practices, tools, and ways of securing DevOps processes (e.g., DevSecOps or Rugged DevOps).
- Proficiency in automation tools, infrastructure-as-code, and configuration-as-code.
- Knowledge of databases, containers, container orchestration, and container hardening.
