Morgan Philips is working with a public sector company in Derby to recruit an interim Chief Finance Officer to join them for 3 months initially paying up to £850 per day inside IR35.
The role of Chief Finance Officer will be required to ensure that the company meets the financial targets set for it, including living within the overall revenue and capital allocation, and the administration costs limit. Jointly with other system partners, the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for ensuring that they deliver its financial targets. The Chief Finance Officer will support the development and delivery of the long-term plan. They will ensure this reflects and integrates the strategies of all relevant partner organisations, with a particular focus on developing a shared financial and resourcing strategy.
The Chief Finance Officer will be responsible for developing the funding strategy to support the board in achieving these aims, including consideration of place-based budgets, and making use of benchmarking to make sure that funds are deployed as effectively as possible. This will include a responsibility for the development of a financial intelligence function, which will enable the development of a financial flows mechanism to support and promote transformational change to deliver the stated aims.
The successful candidate for the role will be a Qualified accountant with full membership and evidence of up-to-date continuing professional development. You will have substantial board level leadership experience and/or system leadership experience within a regulatory or similar environment, experience of managing highly sensitive situations with stakeholders and experience of managing relationships with the media and political stakeholders. Experience of providing financial leadership, mentorship, and professional development at a very senior level with demonstrable outcomes is key to this role and experience of leading highly complex and contentious transformational change at significant scale is also essential.
