About the Opportunity
Tobwabba Aboriginal Corporation Medical Service is looking for a full-time or part-time Psychologist (Provisional, General, or Clinical) based in Forster, NSW.
Supervision by the clinical psychologist in this role is crucial in providing high-quality psychological assessments, therapies, and support with a focus on suicide prevention. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate care to individuals and families within the community, ensuring the highest standard of support during critical times.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments using standardised measures to diagnose and evaluate disorders
- Developing individualised treatment plans and providing therapy tailored to client needs
- Participating in group programs and case conferences to collaborate on patient care
- Managing caseloads with clear documentation, tracking progress, and updating treatment plans
- Attending regular clinical meetings and participating in cultural awareness training
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care
This is not a telehealth role; it requires face-to-face interactions where the candidate must be able to engage and support patients effectively.
About You
To be successful in this role you will be a fully registered Psychologist with AHPRA and have Medicare registration.
- Medicare provider number or the ability to obtain one
- Proven experience in delivering mental health interventions, preferably in primary or acute health care settings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work sensitively in a cross-cultural environment
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Experience in Child and Adolescent Psychology
- NSW driver’s licence or ability to obtain one
