Scope of Role The Manager Your Care Choice (YCC) reports to the Executive Director Aged Care. As a member of the aged care management team, the Manager YCC is responsible for the leadership, planning and decision making of our YCC direct care service ensuring it supports the strategic direction, which includes growth across Australia.
Operating in a highly competitive environment, the manager will work with the Executive Director towards achieving overall client outcomes, service profitability, and the future development and growth of the aged care directorate. This includes delivering high quality care, servicing new clients, retaining existing clients in our service locations, operating an effective and efficient service, planning operational budgets and resourcing to accommodate a growing business.
The Manager YCC will work with the YCC leadership team to provide support and direction to a team of certificate qualified, and unqualified, direct care staff working remotely in client homes across Gippsland and other parts of Victoria, as well as the rostering and administration team.
This role will involve travelling across Victoria and possibly interstate as well.
Accountabilities Managing Strategy Developing a direct care strategy, service and structure aligned to Latrobe Community Health Service’s overall strategy.
Advance our market share and strengthen our position within the home care service sector in Victoria and beyond by successfully implementing the Your Care Choice business cases and achieving program objectives.
Work with the Executive Director and other managers to optimise opportunities for YCC
Manage and support effective performance resulting in achievement of annual program and individual performance targets.
Manage overall resource management issues, including budget and staff.
Undertake business planning for proposed changes within area of responsibility and complete funding submissions, reports or similar.
Prepare economic and demographic forecasts as part of an overall planning process to determine the future growth and services of the business unit.
Put in place processes and reporting mechanisms to ensure Home Care Package and CHSP clients are referred to YCC for service.
Oversee and support the rostering team to minimise waste such as unfilled shifts and travel time.
Oversee the review of program procedures to reflect current practice and according to the eKey schedule.
Managing Partnerships
Managing Staff Alongside the leadership team, create a culture of excellence in customer service and effective teamwork.
Clearly communicate service quality expectations of staff and direct practice to build our service excellence culture.
Initiate personnel recruitment and selection requirement
Ensure new staff have orientation and induction to the organisation and the program.
Ensure staff have a current annual performance review.
Supervise direct reports and manage staff performance in line with organisational practice.
Oversee the planning and coordination of professional development activities for program staff.
Enact workforce requirements in line with the organisational workforce plan.
Managing Reporting Coordinate the collection and collation of data as specified in service agreements and strategy and business plans.
Meet internal and external reporting timeframes and requirements.
Provide high quality reports that provide actions and recommendations that will facilitate proactive management.
Develop and contribute to reporting mechanisms so that the Executive and Board have a complete understanding of the financial viability, efficiency and future options for resource management.
Managing Quality & Risk
Provide high quality customer service resulting in a 85% customer satisfaction rating from customers (Net Promoter Score).
Apply the organisation’s Risk Management Framework in regard to identifying, evaluating and minimising risk exposure for areas of responsibility.
Participate in Managers On Call Roster (shared among all managers)
Professional Development Undertake further training and development to enhance performance.
Leads and manages a remote team and delivers program objectives within service delivery and budget parameters.
Delivers program objectives within service delivery and budget parameters, as well as establish new programs and services.
Sound understanding of monitoring and managing budgets and the ability to critically analyse business performance.
Actively contributes to continuous quality improvement activities including documentation of policies and procedures applicable to the program areas.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to motivate staff to achieve goals and high standards of work performance.
Have an understanding of a range of HR issues (i.e. legislative requirements, recruitment & selection, performance management).
Maintains confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications Mandatory Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Business, Health Management, Aged care, community services or related service industry management experience.
Mandatory Registration/s/Licences:
Victorian driver’s licence
Current Working with Children Check (Employee)
Essential Criteria At least two years previous business unit management experience.
A business acumen and strategic mindset to grow and develop the business
Ability to analyse data from payroll and rostering systems to generate KPI reporting.
Understanding of the aged care sector and what it takes to deliver a quality and safe service to older Australians in their home.
Ability to motivate a team to deliver growth targets.
