What you'll do:
As a Payroll Officer, your primary responsibility will be managing end-to-end payroll operations. This includes maintaining accurate salary records, ensuring timely payments, and assisting staff with any pay or entitlement queries. You'll also be tasked with reconciling salary packaging accounts, interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements, and maintaining strict confidentiality in line with company values and policies. Your role will also involve supporting, reviewing, and improving payroll processes, procedures, and work practices.
- Process fortnightly payroll for 300+ staff within required time frame
- Assist staff with pay or entitlement queries
- Reconcile salary packaging accounts and liaise with external provider
- Interpret and apply Awards and Enterprise Agreements
- Maintain strict confidentiality and conduct in line with company values and policies
- Support, review, and improve payroll processes, procedures, and work practices
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Payroll Officer position brings a tertiary qualification in Payroll or Finance along with extensive experience in both fields. You possess a strong people-focused approach which is crucial for this role. Your proficiency in computer usage extends to Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. Your ability to review/streamline procedures, develop and implement solutions will be highly valued. Additionally, you have knowledge of conditions of employment associated with Awards/Enterprise Agreement provisions.
