Technical Operations Manager - Defence Program
As a result of a secured engagement with one of our Defence Industry partners, Helix is assisting our client to find a Technical Operations Manager to operate within and play an integral role on one of their flagship services for Defence.
We're looking for a Technical Operations Manager with a proven experience of solving complex problems, dealing with a diverse and challenging stakeholder landscape and who thrives working as part of a team to push technical boundaries.
Technical Operations Manager key responsibilities:
- Is responsible for the standardisation of processes across various Infrastructure Services towers for Defence Operations (Direct and Matrixed).
- Optimises delivery & resourcing models and strategies and identifies and implements technology & process improvements to improve delivery, reduce cost and meet customer requirements.
- Ensures that business operations & performance comply with senior management direction, governance requirements and statutory regulations - including Workplace Health & Safety.
- Is responsible for compliance to core company systems, processes and procedures within area(s) of responsibility.
- Recruits, directs, develops and motivates the team to drive high employee engagement and performance.
- Ensures continuous development of employees, ensures staff are appropriately mentored, trained and certified, and builds a talent & leadership pipeline to support future growth and business needs.
- Continually leads, reviews, develops and updates leading edge strategy and core process and business improvements across business area focussing on quality, innovation and adding value.
- Ensures alignment of initiatives to the business strategy and values and collaborates across the rest of the business to ensure alignment and seamless execution.
Technical Operations Manager essential experience & capability:
- 5+ years working in an operational role supporting complex ICT systems and services.
- Good understanding of Infrastructure and Network Management Systems and related operational monitoring approaches.
- Experience mentoring and influencing team members and providing thought leadership within an engineering team.
- Experience working with incident management in an ICT context.
- Demonstrated ability to identify technology gaps in current capabilities and processes.
- Due to the sensitive nature of this environment, an NV2 clearance is essential.
