PURPOSE OF POSITION:
In this position you will manage Canadian Locomotive stores operations, ensure internal customers secure materials quickly and cost efficiently. Optimize CPKC locomotive material while providing oversight on materials management practices and monitor and audit Locomotive materials.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead Canadian stores operations team by overseeing unionized stores personnel
- Maintain a safe and efficient operation
- Inventory control for Canadian stores operations
- Provide SAP training and guidance to stores personnel as the need arises
- Monitor and ensure weekly cycle counts are conducted in a timely manner
- Post and approve inventory cycle count variances as per DOMA
- Ensure repairable cores and items are tagged, tracked and sent for repair within 24 hours
- Ensure proper Unit held documentation and communication has been provided to the procurement team immediately - ensure SAP stock is updated
- Ensure all servicing material is correctly charged out to servicing work orders
- Handle maintenance of Stores vehicles and equipment and make recommendation for replacement
- Review and sign-off SOX reports including consumption and material not counted
- Ensure that weekly count report for fuel, lube oil, wheels, TM and combos are submitted as per schedule
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- 4 year degree preferred but not required
- 3 years’ experience in materials management/logistics
- Experience with computerized inventory control systems SAP, EXCEL, MERLIN would be an asset
- Understanding of supply management and procurement techniques and procedures
- Solid understanding of SAP Materials Module, Fiori, Ariba
- Proven ability to identify, initiate and lead change
- Overall understanding of CPKC Locomotive shops and materials
- Ability to build Power Points/reports/spreadsheets for inventory review
