MENTAL HEALTH NURSE PRACTITIONER (PMHNP)
SOUTH KING COUNTY (1-2 DAYS PER WEEK)

Seeking: Bi-lingual fluency skills in Spanish and English to serve families who communicate in Spanish
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Nurse Practitioner provides psychiatric/medical oversight and consultation, as well as direct psychiatric services to clients of Family Behavioral Health. This role works in collaboration with clinical supervisors and mental health clinicians in all services to ensure quality psychiatric care of consumers and quality clinical consultation to staff. The successful candidate will collaborate with community partners, colleagues, and families to provide family-centered, strengths-based, individually-tailored care to clients of Catholic Community Services in South King County (1-2 days per week on site in Tukwila; plus, option of 1-2 days per month, on-site in Aberdeen, WA.

WHAT WE OFFER:
- Opportunity to work with innovative therapeutic team who are serving youth and families in their home and community.
- Part-time (1-2 days per week) at our South King County site (Tukwila and/or Burien) site. Also, may pick up 1-2 days per month in Aberdeen, as needed/available (FBH will make and for local Hotel when overnight).
- Additionally, some events and trainings are provided in person as well.
- Pay is commensurate with related experience and credentials.
- Bi-lingual fluency in Spanish and English, tiered pay depending on consistency of services delivered to Spanish speaking families served.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Conducts psychiatric assessment of youth in services.
- Evaluates medication needs, prescribes, and supervises ongoing medication needs for all assigned clients.
- Participates in regular intervention reviews and ongoing treatment planning for all consumers.
- Meets regularly and as needed with consumers for medication monitoring/management; consults with families as appropriate.
- Provides regular psychiatric/medical consultation and direction to clinical staff.
- Participates in care coordination with community partners for higher levels of care or specialized treatment services.
- Consults regularly with leadership around service needs.
- Completes all paperwork and record keeping required of position.
- Provides after-hours, on-call consultation via phone, as needed.
- Provides consultation with PMHNP staff on complex cases or when requested.
- Other duties may be included.
WHAT WE ARE SEEKING IN A CANDIDATE:
- PMHNP: Legally licensed to practice medicine in Washington State; license and DEA certificate in good standing; ability to meet necessary privileging and credentialing criteria (JCAHO and NCQA). PMHNP certification.
- Two years’ experience working with children and families in a clinical setting with strong knowledge of child and adolescent development and family systems.
- Bi-lingual fluency skills in Spanish and English, highly desired.
- Demonstrated competence in assessment, diagnosis, medication evaluation and current, sound prescriptive practices for children experiencing mental illness.
- Commitment to strengths-based, family-centered, and individually-tailored clinical approaches.
- Ability to understand and work with child-serving systems (mental health, child welfare, education, juvenile justice/courts, public health, social services).
- Commitment to collaboratively teaming with staff from multi-disciplinary backgrounds.
- Must successfully pass required background clearances.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated commitment to a workplace which embraces diversity.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to consult with staff.
- Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally responsive services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.
