Electrical Design Engineer Position type: Full-time - Contract Duration: 12 months Location: Atlanta, GA As Electrical Design Engineer, you will be:- Responsible for electrical systems and equipment design of complex aircraft interior and entertainment system modifications.
- Perform research and surveys to determine the best methods to modify aircraft to accomplish project statements of work.
- Design new electrical parts, assemblies and installations defining aircraft modifications.
- Perform electrical analysis and substantiation of new parts and installations.
- Produce engineering drawings, reports, material lists and work instructions to document & install aircraft modifications.
- Provide engineering checks of data produced by peer groups or other project participants.
- Provide technical support during manufacturing and installation of aircraft modifications.
- Interface with customers, suppliers and other project stakeholders pertaining to modification projects.
- Provide guidance and oversight to engineering peer group, and mentor new engineers to operate within departmental practices and procedures.
- Provide statements of work, cost estimates, completion schedules and other project administrative inputs.
The ideal candidate will have: - S. in engineering or related scientific field. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
- Three (3) years overall work experience, two (2) of which in a design engineering role.
- Good computer skills and demonstrate proficiency with 2D CAD systems and MS Office programs.
- Good knowledge of aircraft electrical systems design processes, materials, fabrication methods and aerospace hardware.
- Experience in working knowledge of substantiation techniques and FAA regulatory requirements.
- Experience in order to effectively utilize aircraft continued airworthiness data.
- Preferred qualifications: Experience in Knowledge of aircraft interior cabin electrical, avionics and entertainment systems, Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
