We are seeking a Quality Technician to work closely with our manufacturing team. As a Quality Technician, you’ll ensure our manufacturing processes meet high-quality standards. You’ll collaborate with machinists, fabricators, assembly personnel, and engineers to verify process controls, contribute to new product development, monitor vendor quality, and uphold commitment to customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Drive continuous improvement in product performance, supporting rapid changes in materials and processes.
- Conduct audits to verify compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
- Develop work instructions, forms, and standard operating procedures.
- Perform process capability studies to prevent process drift and ensure quality.
- Track non-conformance costs and recommend improvement projects.
- Monitor and present customer feedback to management, suggesting corrective action projects when needed.
- Collect and format data on purchased components to assess supplier performance.
- Collaborate with engineers and suppliers to verify that products meet specifications.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Experienced with measurement devices such as micrometers, dial bore gauges, height gauges, optical comparators, and CMM.
- Skilled in conducting first-article inspections and assisting machinists and fabricators with critical measurements.
- Knowledgeable in FMEA, control plans, and maintaining calibration schedules for measurement devices.
- Competent in root cause analysis techniques such as Fishbone Diagrams, 5 Whys, and Pareto Charts.
- Experience in Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement projects.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis methods and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Education and Experience:
Associate’s Degree in applied science or engineering field with 3+ years of experience as a Quality Technician or Quality Engineer in manufacturing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
