Job Summary
Seeking a motivated and skilled transactional lawyer to help negotiate artificial intelligence (AI) and other technology and commercial agreements as a member of the Legal Department's Product, Technology, and Operations Team. This role offers the opportunity to develop as a thought leader on AI legal risk. Responsibilities include providing transactional legal support and counseling to business development, product and technology, and procurement. Work matters may also involve legal research and overseeing counsel. You will have the opportunity to manage your own matters with moderate supervision. The ideal candidate will possess a growth mindset, a collaborative attitude, and curiosity about cutting-edge technologies.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including software license and services, SaaS, technology development, and evaluation agreements.
- Develop knowledge and expertise to advise on AI-related contract provisions and products and services utilizing AI.
- Identify and offer solutions to mitigate legal risk, including with respect to AI vendors, and provide actionable legal advice.
- Collaborate within the Legal Department and across Comcast's various business units as required to evaluate AI use cases and associated risk.
- Perform legal research. Consult with and supervise outside counsel to develop legal strategies and resolve issues in routine matters.
- Carry out and perform duties consistent with strategic plans and directives, as determined by senior level management and attorneys.
- Consistently exercise independent and sound judgment.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum 2-5 years combined of transactional experience in a top law firm and/or corporate legal department.
- JD with strong academic credentials.
- Member of a state bar in good standing and eligible for Pennsylvania Bar or Pennsylvania Limited In-House Corporate Counsel License.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, organization, and communication skills.
- Strong interest in technology, artificial intelligence, and intellectual property.
- Collegial and collaborative with the skills to work effectively with colleagues, management, and operations personnel.
- Self-motivated and independent, but able to discern when matters should be escalated and when further guidance is needed.
- Ability to pivot quickly and meet deadlines with consistently high-quality work product.
- Ability to deliver complex information in an understandable way and with a focus on business outcomes.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
