A highly regarded boutique law firm is seeking an emerging associate attorney to join their recognized employment law practice. We are searching for a diligent and detail-oriented associate attorney with an interest in handling settlement negotiations and transactional matters. As a member of the settlement team, associates assist with ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations, reducing settlement risk, and streamlining the closing process.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in negotiating and finalizing settlements
- Draft and review settlement agreements and transaction related documents
- Manage and assist in all aspects of settlement transactions, including document preparation, review, and final execution
- Ensure that all necessary legal documents are prepared and executed appropriately, funds are collected and disbursed to all the proper parties, and filing joint motions where necessary
- Coordinate with clients, senior attorneys, and external parties to ensure smooth case resolution
- Provide support on broader business transactions and legal issues as needed
- Conduct legal research related to settlement issues and business matters
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the California Bar
- 0-2 years of experience, preferably with exposure to settlements, negotiations, and related transactional matters
- Exceptional communication skills, collaborates well with a team and others
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Proficiency in legal drafting and transactional document preparation
- A team-oriented mindset with a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
