POSITION DETAILS
Founded in 1971 in Long Island City, Queens, LaGuardia Community College is one of seven community colleges of the City University of New York/CUNY. LaGuardia offers more than sixty associate degree and certificate programs, as well as dozens of workforce training, ESOL, GED, and pre-college programs. In 2023, LaGuardia served approximately 25,000 students. More than one-third of our degree-seeking students were born outside of the United States, coming to LaGuardia from 136 countries and speaking forty-three heritage languages. More than half are first-generation college students. Sixty-nine percent live in Queens; the rest live in Brooklyn and beyond. Approximately two-thirds of our degree students receive financial aid. Under the direction of the Wagner Archive's Director, the candidate will work closely with the LaGuardia Community College Business Office to prepare contracts, create and manage requisitions, and receive orders. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Under the direction of the Wagner Archive's Director, the candidate will work closely with the LaGuardia Community College Business Office to prepare contracts, create and manage requisitions, and receive orders. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with the office budget, including maintaining accounting records, preparing reports, and making requests for deposits/payments to/from Archives accounts.
- Coordinate with the Business Office to request budget modifications and resolve other related issues.
- Collect and maintain statistical data on program activities.
- Coordinate mailings of Archives’ materials, including of the yearly History Calendar.
- Communicate with office staff to determine needs for supplies, equipment and services.
- Manage appointments of part-time staff in the College’s payroll management system.
- Assist the Archivist in archiving financial documents according to LaGuardia’s Record Retention Schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two years' experience working in an accounting and budget position preferred. Strong computer experience with fluency in Microsoft Office (Word, Access and Excel). Experience working with CUNYFirst.

- Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department.
- May supervise office staff and student workers.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
