Summary:
This position is located in the Operations Division, Office of Personnel Security and Suitability, Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), U.S Department of State (DoS), Rosslyn, VA. In this position, you will serve as a Personnel Security Specialist responsible for directing the conduct and certifying the sufficiency of initial pre-employment investigations conducted for the purpose of determining suitability and security clearance eligibility.

This is a non-status, non-permanent Personal Service Contract (PSC) position. PSC’s do not acquire a competitive or excepted service status from this position. Contract is 1 year; renewable up to 4 years.

Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.
Applicants applying for the GS-12 must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Experience analyzing background investigative information and applying adjudicative criteria in order to make recommendations concerning the issuance of security clearances or public trust certification.

Experience conducting personnel security/suitability assessments by evaluating background information from a variety of sources and reports.

Experience preparing and documenting case evaluation of investigations against national level criteria for investigative sufficiency and for suitability/security adjudication.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-12 position.
