Summary:
This position is located in the Adverse Actions Division, Office of Personnel Security and Suitability, Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), U.S Department of State (DoS), Rosslyn, VA. You will serve as a Senior Personnel Security Specialist responsible for determining investigative sufficiency and adjudicating security clearance eligibility for a variety of exceedingly complex and/or controversial cases.

This is a non-status, non-permanent Personal Service Contract (PSC) position. PSC’s do not acquire a competitive or excepted service status from this position. Contract is 1 year; renewable up to 4 years.

Qualifications:
Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience preparing evaluations of investigations against national level criteria for investigative sufficiency and for suitability/security adjudication.
- Experience making final determinations for the issuance of security clearances based on information from referrals and background investigations.
- Experience assessing security clearance access eligibility based on background investigations and other legal documentation.
- Experience interpretating personnel suitability and security guidelines, policies, and regulations.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
