Description:
Iowa Orthopedic Center is seeking a dedicated Radiologic Technologist (RTR) to join our team at River Hills Surgery Center, our new, state of the art Ambulatory Surgery Center.
As a vital part of our perioperative team, you will perform a variety of x-rays in the intra-operative and post-operative setting. You will be part of a team caring for patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric, and be an integral team member providing support for bone, muscle, joint and spine cases. This role offers a dynamic and team-oriented environment focused on mutual support and improvement of patient outcomes as we prioritize patient care above all else.
Key Responsibilities
• Performs intra-operative and post-operative x-rays as directed by physician.
• Demonstrate competence in specified computer application; including but not limited to managing and uploading x-rays.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment and stays abreast of current perioperative trends.
• Maintains Radiation Safety Program; including but not limited to dosimeter badges, lead shielding and any other applicable testing.
• Schedules required PM for equipment
• Coordinates/Schedules any needed equipment repairs
• Communicate effectively and appropriately with staff, physicians, patients, families and other ancillary team members.
• Prepare for surgical cases in an efficient manner, anticipating needs of patient, surgeon and other surgical team members.
• Provide a safe environment for patient and staff by implementing standards of aseptic technique.
• Assist in the peri-operative setting as directed by the Nurse Manager/OR Team Lead within the scope of practice.
• Participate in the performance improvement process. Assists with regulatory compliance throughout the organization.
• Adhere to all Joint Commission standards and CMS Rules and Regulations.
Requirements:
• Current RT(R) Certificate or Degree
• BCLS Certification, or obtains upon hire
• Mandatory Reporter Certification, or obtains upon hire
• Confident to act with autonomy within the scope of your practice
• Excellent communication skills
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift a minimum of 50 pounds
