Summary:
The Clinical Manager of the Nursing Resource Department has round-the-clock responsibility for directing and coordinating resources for patient and family care delivery. This role collaborates with the relevant Director Clinical Manager and Assistant Clinical Manager to provide leadership across patient care areas. The Clinical Manager oversees the nursing supervisor team discharge and staffing coordinators responsible for on-site nursing operations during off-shift hours. Additionally this position entails implementing and supporting the strategic goals objectives policies and procedures of Brown University Health.
Responsibilities:
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIIES:
Manages a team of 15-20 nursing supervisors and collaborates with local nursing leaders to manage day to day nursing operations.
Performs continual assessment of processes around nurse supervisor rounding and staffing making improvements as needed.
Ensures that reported data provided by the nursing supervisor team is timely accurate and actionable.
Develops an operational and capital budget for the nursing supervisor team. Analyzes and explains budget variances.
Provides support for leadership development and professional growth for Nursing Supervisors and other Patient Care Services staff as appropriate.
Evaluates and provide resources and feedback to staff to enhance professional development.
Defines and assure adherence to unit and organizational policies procedures and standards.
Serves on multidisciplinary quality improvement committees.
Analyzes data and identifies opportunities for improvement in patient care and overall nursing operations.
Participates in organizational committees for planning and development.
Maintains open lines of communication with all members of the health care team.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to guide care of patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
Performs other duties as assigned.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
EDUCATION:
Baccalaureate in Nursing required; Master preferred (Nursing or related Health Care field acceptable).
Strong leadership skills
EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years relevant experience.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Schedule train assign work to participate in the evaluation of and when necessary recommend discipline and discharge of subordinate personnel when appropriate.
