Your Daily Impact As a Lead Software Engineering Manager at Indeed, you will lead and nurture a talented team focused on developing and improving software systems that enhance user experiences on a large scale. In this crucial role, you will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to transform business requirements into actionable technical initiatives. Key Responsibilities Lead the team's delivery roadmap, aligning project priorities with business and product goals. Work alongside engineering colleagues, product managers, UX designers, and program managers to formulate and execute a comprehensive long-term strategy. Mentor and support engineers at various levels, from fresh talent to seasoned professionals. Create a self-organizing environment that empowers the team to deliver consistently on time while maintaining a sustainable pace. Enhance technical quality by setting clear standards for excellence, adhering to processes, and following engineering best practices. Facilitate technical problem-solving by encouraging practical decisions and fostering open discussions about trade-offs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics. A minimum of 5 years in professional software engineering. At least 2 years in a management or technical leadership role with personnel responsibilities. Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale projects across multiple teams while establishing effective engineering practices. Familiarity with contemporary software development technologies and architectures, such as service-oriented systems, APIs, and web or backend frameworks. Experience with data-intensive systems or applied machine learning is a plus but not essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to various audiences.
