PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Hire-to-Retire (H2R) Business Transformation Services HRIS Business Analyst is tasked with collecting requirements, conducting user acceptance tests for HR applications, crafting reports, and resolving business production issues to improve our HRIS and its related technologies. With experience, tasks will grow in variety and complexity, encouraging greater independence within set guidelines. The role involves collaboration with Human Resources, Labour Relations, Network Service Center, and IS teams to demonstrate technology for more efficient processes, considering the interplay of people, process, and technology. This position handles H2R systems at CPKC including SAP, SuccessFactors, Concur, and others, and emphasizes service provision, relationship building with business units, and teamwork.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Collect requirements through various methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, and workflow analysis
- Diagnose system issues and propose solutions or recommendations
- Collaborate with business teams to detail and validate business process requirements for automation feasibility and support crafting the business case
- Conduct testing, identify performance issues, communicate changes to the development team, and monitor resolutions
- Document and analyze system requirements
- Coordinate workshops with IS and business partners to identify and confirm requirements for projects
- Develop an understanding of the organization, its processes, and customers to tackle straightforward problems with standard solutions
- Facilitate process mapping/modeling and translate requirements into designs
- Monitor policy, process alignment, and Collective Bargaining Agreement compliance, providing status feedback
- Assess partner requests for feasibility and impact on existing solutions and processes
- Assist in crafting RPA components, including process flows and exception handling, with the IS team
- Apply in-depth knowledge of business issues to improve products/services and solve complex problems with innovative solution
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- Experience working with SAP ECC HCM and EHS modules
- Experience working in the SuccessFactors suite of products
- Experience within the rail industry transportation would be an asset
- Experience with process mapping and project management methodology
- Experience working along side Human Resources regarding process, procedure and policy development or creation
- Demonstrable experience collaborating with peers, superiors and members of multi-functional teams
