Commencing salary £65,886 plus £1,308 lunch allowance (to be paid pro-rata)

We are seeking a Senior Research Manager to manage the commissioning, understanding and analysis of research in the field of education, school systems and the teaching profession. You’ll ensure the NEU is at the cutting edge of data analysis and technology in order to forward our campaigning, negotiating and political aims and to achieve influence and impact for the NEU. You will develop and implement strategies that make innovative use of research, data and data analysis in departments across the organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the commissioning, understanding, and analysis of educational research.
- Ensure the NEU is at the cutting edge of data analysis and technology.
- Develop and implement innovative research strategies across departments.
- Manage a team of researchers, empowering and motivating them.
- Analyze and interpret research data, including evidence from NEU’s membership.
- Influence government and employer policy through evidence-based research.
Minimum Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience in educational research.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex research data.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
Prospective applicants are also advised that your normal place of work will be the NEU office specified in this advert and that the NEU operates ‘Blended Working Arrangements’ for office-based staff, which means you will typically need to be based in the designated NEU office for 3 days a week (based on a full-time contract), with the remaining days based at home, subject to business needs.
In addition to salary, we offer good conditions including 35 days’ annual leave plus Christmas closure days and a generous pension scheme. Salary and benefits will be offered pro-rata for part-time applicants.
