The All-England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) is one of the world’s most iconic sporting locations serving as a private Members Club hosting meetings & events during 50 weeks of the year and for two weeks, hosting The Championships – the world’s premier grass court tennis tournament.
Role Purpose:
To provide a first-class, five-star experience for all events and their guests at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. Reporting to the Meetings and Events Manager, you will be part of the event team responsible for the day-to-day meetings and events operation, complemented by casual members of staff.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the highest level of food and customer service is provided at all times within the Meeting and Events department.
- Ensure all allergen information is appropriate and correct.
- Assist in the delivery of meeting refreshments and support the breakout team when required.
- Review and update M&E standard operating procedures (SOPs) in line with current practices.
- Write setup/prep sheets to aid leading setup teams ahead of scheduled meetings and events.
- Develop ‘daily inspection reports’ through the Compass lead system, Paperless.
- Lead team briefings ahead of events, ensuring casual staff are fully trained.
- Manage between 1 and 50 members of casual staff per day during events.
- Build relationships with Members through first-class communication and customer service skills.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with the F&D team and M&E team.
- Send consumptions to the Events Coordinator for invoicing purposes.
- Support the Finance department with Internal Meetings and Breakout trackers.
- Ensure all casual staff are signed in, out, and breaks assigned for payroll purposes.
- Attend weekly forecasting and functions meetings.
- Liaise with the M&E Head Chef to ensure timely food delivery for each event.
- Control uniform stock, returns, and laundering.
- Assist with weekly linen orders and distribution across the site.
- Assist with monthly staffing requirements for upcoming events.
- Protect and safeguard all Compass monies, stock, and property.
- Support The Championships’ operation as required.
