Job Description
Theatre Team Members will work across Front of House, Bars, and Box Office. They will be the first point of contact for customers entering the building and are responsible for the customer experience for as long as the patrons are in the building.
Theatre Team Technicians will be primarily responsible for providing back of house and technical support in the venue, alongside some front of house duties as needed. This could include restocking bars, clearing the theatre pre/post show, scanning tickets pre-show, and ushering to seats.
As a Theatre Team Member, you will work to ensure that performances and overall visitor experiences run as smoothly as possible, as well as working with the visiting artists and producers when they are in the building to support their needs as required.
Length of contract: 2 - 3 months from October (Date TBC)
Type of Contract: Part time / Fixed Hours at a minimum of 15 hours per week
Salary: £13.15 per hour excluding breaks
Hours: Hours will vary but due to the nature of the seasonal Christmas programming, hours will fall between 8.30am - 11pm.
It is important that you can commit to a minimum of 15 hours a week. You must be available to work at least two of the following dates: 24th, 26th, & 31st December.
Job Requirements
- Some experience of working in a customer/client facing role, ideally within an arts environment but not essential (museum, gallery, venue, etc.)
- Good level of computer literacy including use of apps
- Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- An interest in and enthusiasm for theatre, comedy, and the arts
- A friendly, approachable, and adaptable attitude
- Prior experience of working in Front of House/Box office at a theatre (Ideally with Spektrix)
- Prior experience working in a busy bar and sales environment
- Basic knowledge of theatre technical equipment
- First Aid and/or Fire Marshall trained
Role Suitability:
This role would suit someone looking to pick up additional hours over the Christmas/New Year period on a short-term basis, who enjoys family theatre and has some experience of working in environments with a variety of people and age ranges, from 0 - 100.
