Would you like to spend the Spring semester of 2025 learning from a team of specialists at the heart of the LEGO Group? Use your engineering skills to translate creative design requirements into physical production equipment - and see how this equipment produces the decoration of the well-known LEGO® brick.
You will join our Engineering team which is responsible for developing processing production equipment to ensure that we can produce the decoration of new LEGO bricks with speed and efficiency. We also provide support and specialist knowledge to our global production sites to continuously improve and optimize our running production.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist in maturing concepts for new processing equipment in close cooperation with specialist team (Decoration Technician, Equipment Technician and Qualification Technicians), based on requirements from internal customers.
- Assist in Design, development, and tests of new processing equipment within current standards, guidelines, and machine platforms
- Support in ensuring delivery of new equipment.
- Assist in follow-up on performance of new equipment (safe to operate, high quality, high stability, satisfying output, acceptable.

Processing is responsible for developing and manufacturing production equipment needed for processing of new LEGO Bricks with speed, effectiveness, and efficiency. This responsibility includes cooperating with Product Design organizations, other Engineering department as well as the global manufacturing sites. The organization is in total around 100 people working in different areas such as mechanical design, automation design and decoration development.
The role as Intern is supporting our ability to realize and produce new element (LEGO Brick) designs, which includes 1) decoration of the element, 2) factory assembly of the element, or 3) special handling of the element, needed for novelty LEGO Models. Furthermore, the role is supporting our ability to continuously offer high service, knowledge, and support towards Production to make sure that the equipment is running with high performance.
Do you have what it takes?
- It is a prerequisite that you are enrolled in an educational institution, and the Internship must be meritorious as part of the education.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree or +3 years technical trainee program within Mechanical Engineering, Technical Product Design and Development, or similar engineering field.
- Experiences in using 3D CAD software (preferable Siemens NX).
- Experience in working with 2D drawings - technical specification and documentation.
- Theoretical understanding of mechanics, technical design principles and materials.
- Some experience in working with product or equipment development processes.
- Flair for technical problem solving.
- Strong desire for technical solutions and problem solving.
- Understanding of material science.
- Preferable understanding of production machines and machine design/development.
- English at fluent level is required as this is the standard office language.
Nice to have:
- Preferable understanding of production machines and machine design/development.
- Preferable understanding of production processes.
- Preferable knowledge of injection moulding and/or mould design/manufacturing.
- Preferable knowledge of equipment/machine manufacturing (including 3D printing technology).
