Position Summary
The Associate Director of Business Advisory Solutions will be responsible for providing strategic business operations advice, expert guidance on AI transformation, contract lifecycle management, and process improvement to corporate legal departments and law firms. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Managing Director to lead a team of consultants and support staff, ensuring top-tier client service, operational efficiency, and driving business development through targeted marketing and thought leadership initiatives.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide expert business and technology advice to corporate legal departments and law firms, focusing on areas such as AI-driven transformation, contract lifecycle management, process optimization, strategic planning, and financial management.
- Lead AI transformation initiatives, advising clients on how to effectively leverage AI technologies to enhance legal operations, automate workflows, and drive digital transformation.
- Advise on contract lifecycle management (CLM) solutions, ensuring clients implement and optimize CLM platforms for improved contract organization, creation, negotiation, execution, and compliance management.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring the timely delivery of tailored solutions that align with client needs, from technology implementation to operational strategy.
- Assist in managing a team of consultants and support staff, providing mentorship, guidance, and training to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
- Formulate and implement marketing plans to effectively promote the department’s service capabilities, identifying new opportunities for business development within corporate legal departments and law firms.
- Present to in-house and outside counsel on the company’s service capabilities, demonstrating expertise in AI transformation, CLM, and business process improvement to drive client engagement and awareness.
- Design and lead targeted Continuing Legal Education (CLE) sessions to showcase the company's capabilities and create further awareness among legal professionals, contributing to business growth.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director to develop business strategies, identify new business opportunities, and lead client pitches and proposals.
- Ensure that the team's work adheres to the highest quality standards and is delivered on time and within budget.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of best practices within the department, especially around AI adoption, process improvement, and technology integration.
- Represent the department at industry conferences and networking events, sharing insights on the intersection of AI, contract management, and legal operations.

Requirements
Education: A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field. Additional relevant qualifications, such as an MBA or a relevant post-graduate degree, would be an advantage.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience providing business advisory services to corporate legal departments and law firms.
Skills: Excellent knowledge of business strategy, financial management, process improvement, and technology implementation. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of consultants and support staff. A track record of developing and maintaining strong client relationships. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex business issues in a clear and concise manner. A proactive approach to business development and the ability to identify new business opportunities. The ability to work effectively as part of a team, and to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients. A commitment to providing excellent client service, and a willingness to go above and beyond to meet clients' needs.

Working Conditions: You will be required to work in the office at minimum 2 days per week. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule. The details of your weekly schedule will be discussed further with your direct supervisor.
Pay Ranges: This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of Reed Smith’s pay range for this position. Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.

- CHI/PHL: $193,000-$258,000
- PRC/DC: $205,000 - $275,000
- NY/LA: $212,000 – $285,000
- SF: $225,000 - $302,000
