General Purpose:
Oversee the manufacturing of metal parts according with work instructions and best practices by performing the following duties:
Shift(s)
- 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM) Monday through Friday
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Include the following, other duties may be assigned)
- Perform adjustments related with machine settings, tools and times. Analyses part measurements to determine adjustments needed.
- Responsible for production and quality output for specified area.
- Read blueprints to ensure dimensional conformance of parts. Reviews measurement reports to assess product conformity and necessary corrections. Understands how to measure parts with use of precision measurement equipment. micrometers, calipers, height gauges, sine plates. Etc.
- Perform re-works on and off machine.
- Fundamentals of G & M code functions.
- Understands fixturing and work-holding principles.
- Ability to troubleshoot a variety of issues including: General machine errors, tooling errors, out of tolerance programming errors.
- Ensures that the documentation is correct including quantities and other records including previous operations.
- Promptly performs booking operations and ensures reported quantities are correct.
- Use of hand tools such as files and hand reamers to de-bur parts while maintaining product conformity.
- Perform visual inspections to identify issues as early in the production process as possible.
- Trains operators on S.O.P. as well as visual inspection details.
- Helps with workflow by identifying bottlenecks and promptly communicating status with supervisors, CNC technician 2 and 3.
- Maintains a high level of safety and cleanliness in the manufacturing area.
- Supports production plans based on priorities, output goals, and efficiencies of their respective lines.
- Communicates with shift supervisor and/or CNC technicians potential issues that could affect product quality and/or safety including equipment and product issues.
- Communicates with other CNC technicians and operators at shift change relevant information that helps prevent mistakes or expedite production process.
- Supports Lean Manufacturing activities in his/her area of responsibility such as TPM, 5S, Kan-Ban, etc.
- Leads team of Machine Operators in assigned area regarding technical and operational topics.
- Flexible work schedule.
- Must be present in regular attendance.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to an indoor climate controlled and team environment with strong training and support structure. All machines have machine guarding as well as strict safety practices.
