Innova Solutions is immediately hiring a Patient Representative
- Position type: Contract- 3months
- Location: Syracuse, New York
- Job/ Shift Hours: Monday-Friday 8am to 430pm and would need to be willing to stay until 5pm on any “busier days”- they may need them to (possibly 2-3 days/week)
As a Patient Representative, you will be required to have:
- Greets customers in a polite, prompt, helpful manner and provides any necessary instruction or direction to them.
- Obtains, verifies and updates patient information, collects co-pays and other payments, provides any necessary forms needing completion i.e. (Hipaa/Consents; Financial paperwork) and obtains signatures as necessary. Reconciles payments each day.
- Communicates with other billing or medical staff as needed for appropriate patient support either verbally or via computer.
- Answers phone in pleasant manner, screens calls, takes detailed messages and provides information, dealing with customer needs expeditiously.
- Assists with referral coordination by pt. instruction and direction, as well as entering and attaching appropriate insurance referrals to appointments.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Maintains a clean, organized area.
- Supplements office staff as reception tasks permit by assisting with photocopying, computer input/typing, scheduling, scanning and faxing or mailing outpatient paperwork accurately from work from home staff.
- Exhibits core Fundamentals throughout their day with each interaction with patients, families or co-workers.
The ideal candidate must have:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in customer service setting, preferably one year receptionist experience in a medical office.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
