Job Summary:
The IT Dean is responsible for overseeing the delivery and conduct of all classes, ensuring compliance with the standards and policies of both Informatics and related government institutions that govern the school. The Department Head should ensure that lecturers actively engage students in various learning experiences that allow them to create solutions to real-life problems through the application of their learnings, innovation, or invention.
The Department Head will also oversee planning for the growth and development of the Division’s manpower pool, including but not limited to hiring, faculty development plans, and performance evaluation of the faculty pool.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees the formation, implementation, execution, and evaluation of plans and programs for faculty development and the supervision of activities and services for the advancement of goals and objectives of the faculty.
- Creates and implements an effective Faculty Development Program that aims to build the competencies of the faculty members.
- Monitors qualifications of lecturers in compliance with DepEd, TESDA, and CHED requirements.
Oversees the grading and the reporting of standards and methods used by teachers in measuring student achievement.
- Monitors submission of grades every midterm for HE and every after periodical exam for SHS.
- Creates, reviews, and revises learning modules after the end of the academic year to ensure up-to-date contents in compliance with the objectives of the Academics Division.
Oversees recruitment and selection, performance evaluation, classroom monitoring, faculty ranking, and faculty conduct.
- Determines vacancies in the Instruction Department and requests manpower.
- Facilitates (virtual) classroom observation formally and randomly.
- Evaluates performance of employees and recommends salary increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
- Checks and approves work plans, end-of-day accomplishments, and leave applications of lecturers and the Assistant Department Head.
- Handles conflicts within the Department and/or endorses cases to the Academic Council or HR Department for proper course of action.
- Acknowledges resignation of IT Lecturers.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Academics.
Minimum Qualifications:
Educational Attainment:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Preferably with Master's Degree/Doctoral Degree.
- Over 4 years prior experience as Dean, up to and including 10 years.
