PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing and delivering the overall project and its deliverables by acting as the customer’s single point of contact for the project. This includes responsibility for planning and completing project activities and managing resources to ensure the established scope, budget, time, and quality goals are met.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Work with technical and business leaders to define project investment opportunities, including Work with technical and business leaders to define project investment opportunities, including scope, schedule, budget, and benefits
- Identify and negotiate project resource requirements with delivery organizations (internal & external), set delivery expectations, and evaluate delivery performance
- Lead the planning and execution of multiple Agile or Waterfall projects, ensuring timely, within-scope, budget-compliant delivery that meets quality standards
- Work with Product and Resource Owners to find and involve collaborators. Collaborate with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and Technical Leads to define and review project requirements for efficient benefits.
- Facilitate seamless interactions among Technical Leads, Project Delivery Staff, and QA Leads for cohesive execution and testing, while supervising cross-departmental activities to balance competing priorities and secure delivery commitments
- Coordinate all aspects of project implementations, including practice runs and debut activities, to ensure a smooth transition into production environments. Promptly report any critical issues and risks to leadership for timely resolution
- Take part in activities related to organizational change, with a focus on encouraging product adoption and preparing the support team for new or modified systems.
- Follow IS PMO processes for work, stage gates, and controls in accordance with SOX and management compliance. Team Leadership
- Create, maintain, and provide timely submissions for project financials, managing costs in SAP and Excel
- Develop, monitor, and control all aspects of delivery according to CPKC IS PMO and established methodologies for project management.
- Develop and support the creation of presentations for senior management on project scope, schedule, budget, and status updates
- Provide project leadership: set clear goals, engage team members, resolve conflict and recognize team member contributions appropriately
- Conduct regular lessons learned sessions to ensure continuous improvement of project teams
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- University degree in Commerce/Business Administration, Engineering, or Computer Science
- Over 10 years of leading large, multi-stakeholder, business-focused application development IS projects
- Advanced practical expertise in project management across various knowledge areas, including scope, time, cost, quality, human resource, communication, risk, procurement, and integration.
- Proficient in delivering Custom Development and Application Integration projects using Agile methodologies
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Microsoft Project for planning and delivery
- Lead Statement of Work (SOW) development, contract negotiations, and manage vendors and material delivery
- Solid ability to communicate and influence decision-making at both executive and working levels; experienced in prioritization and conflict resolution
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent experience
- PMI-ACP or Certified Scrum Master certification is an asset

Management Conductor Program:
